Nila
An answer that shows its work.
Nila only answers from the graded library on this site. Not the open internet, not a forum, not a supplement brand’s blog. Every answer carries the grade and the study behind it, so you can go check.
Does vaginal estrogen raise my breast cancer risk? I had ER+ breast cancer in 2019.
Short version: the evidence we have does not show an increased recurrence risk with low-dose vaginal estrogen, including in people with a history of breast cancer. It is also not a settled question, and it is a decision to make with your oncologist rather than on your own.
Two things worth knowing before that appointment: systemic absorption from low-dose vaginal preparations is very small, and the guidance differs depending on whether you are taking an aromatase inhibitor.
