Bring Apple Health into Nila
Pick what you want to bring in and the Nila app reads it straight from Apple Health on your phone — sleep, steps, resting heart rate, cycle days, beside what you're actually feeling. Yours to choose, turn off, or delete, included with every Nila account.
You decide. Nothing comes in unless you bring it in here, and nothing else in Nila depends on it. Your export is read on your own device, only daily totals are ever kept, and you can delete them or stop anytime. See Privacy section 11b and Terms section 6d.
Your phone does the reading. Apple Health lives on your iPhone (Health Connect on Android), so the numbers come in from inside the Nila app, not the browser. You can set your choices here on a laptop, then open the app to bring them in. On the web the Health export below still works.

Another way in
Import your Health history
The app reads the last stretch of days for you. This one is for the back catalogue, or for when you'd rather do it from the web: three taps on your iPhone and Nila fills in months — often years — of steps, sleep, resting heart rate, workouts and cycle days at once.
- Open Health and tap your photo, top right.
- Scroll down and tap Export All Health Data, then Save to Files.
- Come back here and choose that zip below.
Repeat it whenever you want fresh numbers — say once a month. Re-importing never duplicates anything, it just tops up the days you're missing.
The file is read on your device. Only the daily totals below ever leave your phone, and only when you press save.
Advanced, optionalAutomatic daily sync with Apple ShortcutsOnly worth it if you don't use the Nila app — in the app your chosen numbers come in on their own. This does the same job from Shortcuts, with some fiddling.
First, create the private key that tells Nila these numbers are yours.
Optional: have it run itself every morning
In the Shortcuts app: Automation → New Personal Automation → Time of Day → 7:00 a.m. → pick the Nila Shortcut → turn on Run Immediately. Skip this and you can just tap the Shortcut whenever you like.
Something didn't work?
- "No Samples Found" — this is the common one, and it isn't the Shortcut. Shortcuts needs permission to read Health. Go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Shortcuts and switch on Turn On All(Steps, Sleep, Resting Heart Rate, Active Energy at minimum), then run it again. If a category is on and it still says no samples, your iPhone genuinely has nothing logged for yesterday — sleep and resting heart rate usually need an Apple Watch or a sleep-tracking app.
- "Unauthorized" — the token was pasted with a space or a missing character. Copy it again and re-run.
- Nothing on your tracker — the Shortcut sends yesterday, not today. Check yesterday's date on the tracker.
- Zeroes — Health has no data for that day, or Health access was denied. Re-run and tap Allow.

Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, and add these actions in order.

Get yesterday's date
Add Date, then Adjust Date — set it to subtract 1 day.

Pull the four numbers that matter
For each one, add Find Health Samples (Start Date is the adjusted date from step 1), then Calculate Statistics. Rename each result so you can tell them apart.
- Steps → Sum.
- Sleep Analysis (asleep only) → Sum of durations, in hours.
- Resting Heart Rate → Average.
- Active Energy → Sum.
