How we compare

Why Nila

Your clinic prescribes. Your tracker logs. Your coach app chats. Nila is the space around all of it — the part that helps you figure out what it means for you.

The lane

Your clinic prescribes. Your tracker logs. Your coach app chats. Each of them does a real job. None of them are built to help you figure out what it all means for you, specifically. That's the gap Nila was built to fill. Not a replacement for your care team or your favourite tracker, but the space around them: a moderated community, an evidence-based research library, symptom and treatment guides, and a private check-in that remembers your story without selling it.

We don't take money from drugmakers or supplement brands, so when we tell you the evidence on a treatment is solid or thin, that's the whole reason we say it. Free to read, because menopause information shouldn't sit behind a paywall. In June 2026 the SOGC made the same case for menopause care itself. We're not a clinic and don't pretend to be. We're the reading room next door, open while the system catches up.

The library exists because the evidence base is structurally thin. A June 2026 Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Women's Health perspective on the Women's Health Innovation Radar found fewer than 3% of clinical trials in conditions that disproportionately affect women are women-focused, and that women's health funding is concentrated in just two areas: ovarian cancer and menopause. Money rushed in faster than the trials did. Reading honestly through that gap is the job.

With your doctor or specialist

How Nila fits alongside your care team

Your doctor and Nila. Better together.

Nila is complementary to your doctor or specialist, not a replacement. Your clinician diagnoses, prescribes, and does the hands-on care. Nila is the reading room and the prep table: helping you notice patterns, understand your options, and walk into the appointment ready.

  • Prep for the appointment

Symptom guides, questions to bring, and evidence-graded reading so the ten minutes you get actually go somewhere.

  • Track what you're noticing

A private check-in that remembers your story. Export or share what you've logged so your clinician isn't starting from scratch.

  • Translate what you heard

Plain-language explanations of treatments, labs, and trade-offs, so the follow-up conversation is a real one.

  • Find the right person

If the first appointment didn't get you what you needed, our practitioner guide helps you look for a menopause-trained specialist or the right allied practitioner to work alongside your doctor.

Nila doesn't diagnose, doesn't prescribe, and isn't a substitute for medical care. For anything urgent, contact your doctor or local emergency service.

What we do differently

Three things the other lanes aren't built for

  1. Editorial independence

We don't take money from drugmakers, supplement brands, or a clinician's calendar. That's why we can grade research honestly, name where evidence is thin, and tell the truth about wellness grift, without anyone in our ear. Paid placements are clearly marked and never appear in editorial content, on counselling, identity, or crisis pages.

  2. A wide doorway, on purpose

However menopause showed up for you, on its own timeline, after surgery, after cancer treatment, or through hormone transition, it's the same door. The question "what does this mean for me" doesn't change shape depending on how you got here. We don't bolt on identity sections; we build the room so more people fit through the door.

  3. Seen, not tracked

No streaks, no badges, no behaviour-narration back at you, no asking questions you've already answered. The check-in remembers what you told it; we don't sell or share what you logged. Memory, not surveillance.

If you're piecing together your own care stack right now, this page is the five-minute version. Or skip it and start in the community.
